POMEC Consulting is right in the thick of facility maintenance management. The two reasons we exsit are:

The first - to provide efficient, cost effective on-demand senior maintenance management. 

The second - to provide a mentoring service for facility engineering / maintenance management.  This reason can be explained with the following article by John Rowe - the principal of POMEC Consulting.

During the 70's I got my start in facility engineering within the hospitality industry. Right from the beginning I was fortunate to be mentored by men who started their careers during the 40's and 50's.  Humbled by the war these men were very knowledgeable in R&M and had a true understanding of camaraderie between peers.  They were always ready to reach out and help, regardless of where you were on the career ladder. 

Serious about their own positions, the knowledge they gained over the years was invaluable.  Oh, they enjoyed a good laugh and once in awhile it was at my expense.  But it was through that I learned to laugh at myself.  Later finding out what a great stress reliever that ability was.  

Help was often there before I realized I needed it.  This generous instruction was always useful and crucial in future decision making. 

Two such lessons came back to me in the last four to five years. 
1. The need for encouraging camaraderie within the industry, and
2. When you’re ready, give back to the industry.

Now that I'm semi-retired, and that's as retired as I'm going to get, I realized that camaraderie between peers is beginning to slip away and I'm also finding myself ready to start giving back.  With the help of technology such as email, social media and Skype, I'm going to address both of these issues.  Oh, how I love technology. 

The process has begun and I'm in it for the long run.  I hope you will join me.
